Christmas at Holy Trinity
On Christmas Eve at Holy Trinity the church was lit only by candles and the tree lights. There was great anticipation and silence.
Then rang out the beautiful voice of a soloist with the first verse of Once in Royal David’s City. At last Christmas had come.
The Christ Child had come into the world, then as now, a broken world with violence and hatred and natural disasters; God’s great love for us and all people in the form of a tiny baby.
On Christmas Day the children and young people acted out the story of the baby who could find no room at the inn, was born in an animal’s feeding trough, was visited by shepherds and then became a refugee. The baby who was our Lord and God.
Merry Christmas season to all.
