Alleluia! Work is just about to begin on the major repair and restoration project at Holy Trinity. We have moved out of the church building while this takes place, and will be worshipping in the High Kirk Hall in Dunoon town centre. Our thanks to the congregational board of the High Kirk for graciously and generously permitting us to use their facility.
The chosen contractor, W Kirkwoods of Greenock, are taking control of the site, and work will start in the next few days and weeks. The funds are all approved and available, the contracts are being signed, detailed permissions are being finalised and all will begin, under the direction of architects ARPL of Ayr.
The Heritage Lottery Fund and Historic Scotland are providing over £230,000 for this project, and immense sum. The contract will last up to six months, although we hope to be back in the repaired building whilst external work is still taking place.
For any more information, please contact the rector, the secretary Maureen McKellar.
Please do NOT try and enter the church while work is going on. The site office will be in the small parking area opposite Stories yard, but access via this office will only be possible in exceptional circumstances.
