New Bishop of Brechin Consecrated

THE FORMER Rector of Holy Trinity was consecrated as Bishop of Brechin last weekend.

A bus and several cars with members of Holy Trinity aboard left for Dundee on Saturday to attend the consecration of the Very Revd Andrew Swift as the new Bishop of Brechin.

All the Scottish bishops, as well as several retired bishops and some from linked dioceses overseas, laid hands on Andrew in a powerfully moving ceremony at St Paul’s Cathedral in Dundee.

Councillor Audrey Forrest attended. She told the Standard: “I was delighted to attend Andrew’s ordination at St Paul’s in Dundee. “It was a moving service and the music was breathtaking in such a beautiful setting. “I wish Bishop Andrew, Mary and the family all the best as they move forward in this new role.”

Andrew’s former parishioners in Dunoon wish him, Mary and their family every blessing in their new mission.
